What Will You Miss Most About Dante's?

The iconic restaurant is set to close its doors in just a few months.

The news that Dante's Down the Hatch will be closing this spring after 42 years left many in Atlanta heartbroken.

The one-of-a-kind restaurant known for its unique decor, live crocodiles and beloved owner Dante Stephensen holds a special place in the hearts and memories of Atlantans.

Atlantic Realty Partners, the firm with a building that sits directly in front of Dante's, plans to build a 10-story, 288-unit high-rise apartment building on the site of the restaurant.

We love Dantes and were heart broken when we found out they were closing. 7 years ago I was taken to Dantes for dinner for my first time. I fell in love with the restaurant, the automosphere, the food, and the man who took me on the date! 5 years later and lots of visits to Dantes I was on my way to the restaurant again with the same man. However, this was a time I would never forget because that man who I feel in love with proposed. Dante actually brought my ring to the table! I immediately said yes and was greated by the staff and my family! We often visit the restaurant and always talk about that night! Dante's will be missed by us more than we can describe.
