Buckhead Coalition Promotes Garth Peters to Executive Vice President

Approaching his seventh year anniversary of association with the Buckhead Coalition, Garth Peters has been named Executive Vice President by its president Sam Massell.  Peters began his career with this influential Chamber-type nonprofit in September of 2006 when he came aboard in the position of Director of Community Development.

The Coalition, structured as it is with 100 invited Chief Executive Officers of major firms, is staff-driven and currently celebrating its silver anniversary.  Massell, its founding president and a former Mayor of Atlanta, credits Peters with “shouldering a large portion of the Coalition’s initiatives,” identifying him as his “right-hand man” in an ever-busy operation.

Prior to joining the Coalition’s staff, Peters served over two decades with the Bermuda Department of Tourism, including the position of ‘Aide de Camp’ to the Governor of Bermuda, and retiring as Bermuda’s North American Tourism Sales Senior Executive Officer.  He lives in the Buckhead Memorial Park Civic Association neighborhood.

Coalition Chairman Dave Fitzgerald praises the productivity of Peters with the observation that competing organizations have some five-fold staff complements to accomplish similar levels of service.
