After eight months, two months longer than scheduled, Deering Road in Buckhead's Brookwood neighborhood has reopened.
The barricades and orange barrels were removed around noon on Thursday.
The road had become a very popular shortcut from Peachtree Road to Northside Drive.
However, the Georgia Department of Transportation closed the road to repair a bridge and a sinking lot at the adjacent Amtrak station.
