Get Out: Weekend Planner
Brookwood Hills Tour of Homes and the Buckhead Eco-Collection Event are just two of the activities that make this weekend special
It's Thursday and you're looking for some weekend ideas. Here are a few suggestions for fun and interesting ways to spend your time off.
When/Where: 10 a.m-4 p.m. Saturday, Brookwood Hills.
Why go: The Transformations in Brookwood Hills tour features five homes showcasing the work of award-winning architect Stan Dixon, a neighborhood resident. The tour benefits Children's HealthCare of Atlanta.
Pricing: Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Ticket will be sold at each home on the tour and are available online until noon Friday.
When/where: 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Friday (businesses) and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday (residents).
Why go: Sponsored by city council members Howard Shook and Yolanda Adrean, this event allows you to get rid of in a safe, environmentally friendly way all of that old electronic gear, paint and other stuff that you've been meaning to toss out. Businesses don't have to pre-register but should have proof of a Buckhead location. Residents can pre-register at the Livable Buckhead website. Space is limited.
Pricing: A $20 donation for residents is suggested; $50 for businesses.

When/where: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, , 2875 Northside Drive.
Why go: Boys and girls teams in age groups from seventh through 12th grade can compete for the championship.
Pricing: $40 per team.
When/where : 1 p.m. Sunday, the 215 W. Wieuca Road. Registration begins at noon.
Why go: The event in partnership with the Eating Disorders Information Network honors Merrick Ryan, a 1998 Galloway graduate who lost her battle to anorexia in 2000 at age 19. The event is a 2.7-mile walk and 5K run around Chastain Park. Online registration for the event is available at www.myedin.org.
Pricing: $25 for adults; $15 for children. All proceeds benefit EDIN.
