3.  PHOTOGRAPHERS' CHOICE EXHIBIT

Why go: In its last few days,  this exhibit gives photographers a chance to show work they usually don’t display.

Where/when: 8 p.m. Buckhead Theatre.

Why go: The Athens indie band has released its latest album, "False Priest," featuring an appearance by Atlanta's Janelle Monae. The band's style is influenced by all types of music including afrobeat, indie pop and vaudeville.

Pricing: $23 advance.

5. SUPPORT CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS AT “THE BASKETBALL”

Where/When: , 3434 Peachtree Road,NE, Atlanta, Saturday,  7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why go: Celebrate a season of hope at this black tie event with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society’s Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge in Atlanta, where cancer patients stay free of charge with their caregivers while undergoing treatment. Dinner, late-night dancing, an auction and more will be highlighted at this Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall.
