Read the Declaration of Independence

Buckhead Patch wishes you a fun and safe Fourth of July.

On this great day, Buckhead Patch recalls its mission as a community meeting place. With that in mind, we welcome you to post your holiday photos here. Just go to the top of the file, click on add photos, and upload your shots of family celebrations, neighborhood parades or your participation in the Peachtree Road Race or the Lenox Square celebration. Here is the to Buckhead Patch's article on today's events.

For those who wish to take a moment or two to read the Declaration of Independence, here is a Federal Archives link to that document, which we celebrate today.

Also, please post any thoughts in the Comments section about what the Fourth means to you. Or, tell us your memories of the Fourth. One of my favorite memories comes from the Lenox Square celebration. When my son, now 25 years old, was 4 or 5, we went to the mall to hear music and watch the fireworks. During a patriotic song, he spontaneously stood at attention and saluted. I can still see him as a little boy standing there amid the crowd.

Have a great Fourth.
