Wear Your Pajamas to Hanukkah Pajamakkah on Saturday

Holiday events also include MARTA Holiday Shop next week; Artists' Market at Peachtree Road Farmers Market

Youngsters will show their pajama creativity at the Hannukkah Pajama Party Saturday night at the

Sponsored by the Marcus Jewish Community Center, the event beginning at 6 p.m. will include children's stories, songs, crafts, a dreidel-spinning competition, Hanukkah treats and more, according to the MJCC web page. Prizes will be given to children with the most interesting and creative pajamas.

Partners for the event are Ahavath Achim Synagogue of Buckhead, the Epstein School Intown, and the Weinstein School.

MARTA Board Chairman Jim Durrett and General Manager/CEO Dr. Beverly A. Scott will welcome families to MARTA's annual Holiday Shop beginning at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The holiday shop Dec. 21 and 22 will help 4,000 area children have a brighter holiday season, MARTA said. The shop at MARTA headquarters will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Each year, MARTA works with the Federation of Charities and United Way to invite area families to select from thousands of holiday gifts. The shop will include toys, bicycles and gift certificates for essential items, MARTA said.

Community efforts are coordinated by the MARTA Employees’ Charity Club which established the Holiday Shop 15 years ago. This year, MARTA employees have pledged $675,000 to support more than 400 charities.

Look for Distinctive Gifts at Peachree Farmers Market

The Peachtree Road Farmers Market will feature 35 local artists displaying their crafts from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the .

Works inclue handmade baskets, fabric art, glass, jewelry, wood creations, cutting boards, birdhouses, candles, blooming bulbs, plants, handmade glass beads and more, the PRFM said in an annoucement.

Saturday will be the last day for the market until the spring.

Braves to Host Hoiday Party for Military Families

The Atalnta Braves will welcome 100 troops and their families to a holiday party from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Midtown Bowl, 1936 Piedmont Circle N.E.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez, pitcher Tommy Hanson, coaches Roger McDowell, Terry Pendleton, Eddie Perez and Brian Snitker and Braves alumnus Johnny Estrada will host the families of Army Reserves and personnel from the Dobbins Air Reserve Base, according to a news release.

Help Out Kids at Tavern 99

Taking a break from holiday shopping and events? is helping out Bert's Big Adventure with sales of its jumbo wings and crispy tenders.

For every "hot" order of the dishes, the Buckhead tavern is donating $1 to the organization startted by Bert Weiss of Q100. The organization is dedicated to taking physically ill and/or physically challenged children and their families to Walt Disney World, according to a news release.
