"Thankful for the brave men and women who serve our country. It' s not over, but this is a huge victory! Proud to be an American!"  --  Katie Wall, Buckhead resident who works in Midtown

"My heart is with my hometown NYC tonight. I watched those towers fall 10 years ago firsthand, and now I hope all those affected by 9/11 have a bit of peace and solace from this situation."   -- Sarah-Ann Soffer, Midtown resident

"Love all of these USA cheers I'm seeing on TV. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful." -- Amber Lynette Rigsby, Loring Heights resident

"Would be awesome if Bush and Obama could share in this announcement. What a moment for both of them, long awaited ..."  -- Shelbi Saine, Midtown resident

"Tonight's confirmation of the death of Osama bin Laden is welcome news to freedom loving people around the globe. Evil has met justice." -- U.S. Rep. Tom Price, who represents Georgia

"I am not one to rejoice in the death of any person, but Osama bin Laden took the lives of thousands of innocent people in this country and around the world. He committed heinous crimes that ended the hopes and dreams of many courageous public servants as well as a group of excited young children and dedicated teachers on a field trip to California. Many people left home for work that day never to return. Today thousands of families are missing their fathers and mothers, sons and daughters due to the violence this man fomented and supported. His terrorism changed not only individual lives, but it promoted an environment of fear and the need for ever-ready security to assure the defense of this nation and others around the world. Even though there is still a great deal of work left to win the struggle against terrorism, I am hopeful that this important moment will create the willingness to open the door to peace and build a pathway to resolve international differences based on an understanding of the unity of all humankind."  — Rep.  John Lewis, as reported on CBS Atlanta.

"Hardly the end of an era, but certainly a major accomplishment for America and President Obama by taking out a mass murderer." -- Jamie S., owner of Hollywood Tans, which has a location in Midtown
