Atlanta Police Search Area Where Missing Woman's Car Was Found

Atlanta police Friday afternoon searched the area around Lakewood Amphitheatre where missing Buckhead resident Stacey English's car was discovered, as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

APD mounted police and K-9 units canvassed the area.

The APD also released the incident report on the woman's disappearance. The report said she had been taking medication before she disappeared.

Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos told CNN that APD investigators will speak again to Robert Kirk, the St. Louis man who was visiting English before her disappearance. He's not a suspect in the case, police said.

Kirk, in the incident report, told police that English was acting strangely before she was reported missing.

The disappearance of the 36-year-old woman Stacey Nicole English has brought an outpouring of concern on Twitter and Facebook. A number of Atlanta media sources, , have done artcles on English, who disappeared after Christmas from her Buckhead apartment.

Supporters called for a moment of silence for English at noon Friday, along with partcipation in a rally at 3 p.m. at CNN Center. The family has also scheduled a flyer distribution campaign for Saturday in the Lenox Road area where she lived, and one Sunday in the Lakewood area where her car was discovered, according to the family's Facebook page.

In other developments, Atlanta police mounted patrol and K-9 units at 1 p.m. Friday will conduct a search of the area near Lakewood Amphitheater where English's car was found on Dec. 27, with the motor running, APD spokesman Carlos Campos announced.
