Naming Contest for Ga. 400 Trail Announced

Livable Buckhead asks for entries to name trail section

Livable Buckhead is sponsoring a public naming contest for the Ga. 400 trail, according to Denise Starling, the organization's executive director.

The naming contest will be for the trail section running from the Ga. 400 toll plaza to approximately I-85 in Buckhead, the Livable Buckhead announcement said.

The name should be connected to the Buckhead Collection, the larger system of parks and trails being developed for Buckhead's Council District 7 under Livable Buckhead and the Buckhead CID.  The name should also allow additional components of the system to be "named in a similar fashion," according to the organization.

To enter:

  • Submit your suggested name(s) with a supporting paragraph of no more than 250 words that explains the rationale for it.
  •  Email your entry to Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead,denise@batma.org.
  •  Deadline for entries is Thursday, June 30, at 5 p.m.

The Buckhead Collection planning effort has been spearheaded by Councilman Howard Shook, who represents District 7, as well as the Buckhead CID, Neighborhood Planning Unit B, the Buckhead Coalition and Livable Buckhead. a press release said. Livable Buckhead is coordinating implementation of the plan.
