Patch Poll: Which Project Will Benefit Buckhead the Most?

Three major construction projects to be completed over next two years

Buckhead will receive three new major projects over the next couple of years: Buckhead Atlanta, the Legoland Discovery Center and the new North Atlanta High School.

Work is already well under way on the Legoland Discovery Center at Phipps, and construction on the Buckhead Atlanta development is expected to begin next year, with an opening in 2013. Preliminary work has also begun on the North Atlanta site at the former IBM campus on Northside Parkway, with the new school to open in the fall of 2013.

Legoland, the third Discovery Center in the United States, is expected to boost tourism, with families from around the country visitng the interactive site. OliverMcMillan's mixed-use Buckhead Atlanta will also be a big economic generator, with new shops, restaurants, offices and apartments.

A new school has a different type of effect on a community. But a strong public education system also has a huge economic benefit, increasing property values and bringing more people into neighborhoods.
