The Week Ahead in Buckhead

You can donate baby items for a good cause, attend a gallery opening, go to a charity gala, take your kid to a fun fair and listen to a panel discussion about fatherless children.

Here are five things to know about the coming week in Buckhead. For a full list of things to do, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Help homeless women with children. HomeAid Atlanta is collecting baby items through May 6 at State Bank & Trust Co. at 415 E Paces Ferry Road NE.

2. Nature-inspired art. Pryor Fine Art presents paintings by Peter Burega of Santa Fe and John Folsom of Atlanta. Exhibit starts at 4 p.m. Thursday at 764 Miami Circle NE. Free Admission.

3. Catholic Charities Atlanta Sixth Annual Gala. The event will feature a cocktail reception, silent auction and seated gourmet dinner. Starts at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Puritan Foundry Mill at 916 Joseph E Lowery Blvd. NW, Atlanta. $250 per person.

4. Fun Fair for kids. This event starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at  Second-Ponce De Leon Baptist Church at 2715 Peachtree Road NE. Free.

5. 'Why Did My Daddy Leave?' The Fatherless Foundation presents this panel discussion at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Atlanta History Center at 130 W. Paces Ferry Road NW. Free.
