The Week Ahead in Buckhead

There's no public school on Monday in Fulton County. During the week, you can attend a gap year fair, take a wine class and learn about the early struggle for civil rights.

No school on Monday. It's President's Day, and no classes are held in Fulton County Schools.

Gap year fair. Learn about the period of time between completing high school and beginning college when a student steps outside the traditional classroom experience. Starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pace Academy, 966 W. Paces Ferry Road NW. Free.

Learn about wine. Grape Crush Productions offers a series of wine seminars at  East Andrews Entertainment District. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 56 E. Andrews Drive NW. $30.

Buckhead after hours. This party starts at 11:30 p.m. every Friday at Jerry Farber's Side Door, 3652 Roswell Rd NW. $8.

The early fight for civil rights. Learn about the African-American experience from the Great Migration to the Civil Rights Movement. Starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Atlanta History Center, 130 W. Paces Ferry Road NW. Free for museum members.
