Why go: La Fourchette and Perrine's Wine Shop present an Armida Winery Wine Dinner, with guests Steve Cousins, owner of Armida Winery, and Perrine Prieur, owner of Perrine's. Armida Winery is one of the top vinyards in Sonoma County. The winery makes more than 10 different wines including Maple Vineyard Zinfandel, Durell Vineyard Pinot Noir, Bacigalupi Pinot Noir and Castelli-Knight Pinot Noir. SEE A LATIN AMERICAN FILM SCREENING

Where/When: Latin American Association, 2750 Buford Highway, Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why go: “Amor y Frijoles,”  film directed by Honduran Mathew Kodath, is a comedy that tells the story of the adventures of two women who often make wrong decisions. Come at 6 p.m. to network; the film starts at 7 p.m.

Where/When: Kenan Research Center at the , 130 W. Paces Ferry Road; exhibit runs through Sept. 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: Atlanta magazine has partnered  with the Atlanta History Center on this exhibit that includes magazine covers, artifacts, interviews with folks featured on covers and more to celebrate 50 years of publication.

ENJOY MUSIC TIME WITH MS. JENNIER

Where/When: , 2900 Peachtree Road, Saturday, 11 a.m.

Why go: Ms. Jennier entertains the kids with music time in Buckhead as part of the recurring series of programs offered at this national book chain.
