audiences, since she has worked and performed at most of Atlanta’s professional theaters, including
The Alliance Theatre. She was a Resident

Studies at Emory from 1983 until her retirement in 2000. She co-founded Atlanta’s first theater run exclusively by
women (Callanwolde Theater, 1977-1984), and has developed over a dozen
performance pieces featuring the lives of extraordinary women. She will perform a new piece as part of the
Mitchell Speaker Series based on the life of Georgia human rights advocate
Lillian Smith, author of “Strange Fruit”.
