Animal Dreams: June Stratton and David Landis

Hagedorn
Foundation Gallery is pleased to present two one-person exhibitions, by Atlanta
sculptor David Landis and Savannah painter June Stratton, that consider how
people and nature reflect each other in their behavior, their strength and
fragility. In Animal Dreams, each
artist’s dreamscapes depict animals and birds in a reflective silver tone –
whether cubist aluminum sculptures of floating and falling creatures or silver
leaf paintings of birds and animals in midair. Landis and Stratton’s poetic
works incorporate the mirror-like material of silver as an intentional nod to
the aesthetic use of this treasured tone in classical art of centuries past.

June Stratton’s (b.1959,
Hawaii) oil paintings and pastels have been successfully shown in Savannah and
her home gallery of Boston, Lanoue Fine Art Gallery.  Her work has been acquired by many collections including
Bank of America, the U.S. Department of State, The Mayo Clinic and Texaco, Inc.
Stratton’s pieces can be seen in major movie productions as well as national
and international collections, including the acclaimed St. Regis Art
collection, in the hotel’s Atlanta location.
