Following in the Bartrams' Footsteps

John and William Bartram, Founding Fathers of American Botany. Following in the Bartrams’ Footsteps is a new traveling exhibition of botanical artwork from the American Society of Botanical Artists along with a local component of rare books, maps, and museum quality artifacts. This exhibition features contemporary botanical artwork depicting plants discovered and introduced by two generations of the Bartram Family. It reflects John and William Bartrams’ passionate observation and discovery of nature, which has influenced generations of artists and explorers. An outdoor living component in the Historic Gardens of the Atlanta History Center brings the artwork in the exhibition to life.

Free to the public, Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm; Sunday, Noon – 5:00 pm; March 19 – June 17, 2014. Cherokee Garden Library, McElreath Hall, Atlanta History Center.
