Buckhead Coalition Adds Benches to Buckhead Green Spaces

The benches are being delivered for free to Buckhead's pocket parks before Memorial Day weekend.

The Buckhead Coalition, adding another legacy to its Silver Anniversary, is making park benches available to each of the Community’s civic associations.  They are being delivered free of cost to the area'a pocket parks in time for this Memorial Day weekend.

Buckhead has close to 1,000 acres of park land, including the first and second largest parks in the City of Atlanta, Chastain and Memorial, respectively.  Going less noticed, however, are the numerous “postage stamp” parks, usually maintained by volunteer members of the neighborhood organizations.

Coalition president Sam Massell reminds all that “over the years, this nonprofit business group has worked closely with the 78,000 residents of the forty neighborhoods, contributing funds for improvements, including path paving, playground equipment, tree planting, and more”, and “this is another way to aid the quality of life for those who live, visit, work, and play here”.

Each of the heavy-duty benches displays a small plaque, which reads “Commemorating 25 years of civic service, Buckhead Coalition  1988-2013."
