GHCA Hoping to Find Home for Abandoned Dog

The dog was found tied to a fence in the Garden HIlls neighborhood and is now with Fulton County Animal Control.

The Garden Hills Civic Association is looking for a home for a dog found abandoned and left tied to the fence on the Rumson walkway earlier in the week.

The male dog is described in the "Garden Hills Town Crier" email newsletter as a sweet, young, muscular dog who was not aggressive with other dogs and seems to have been well-cared for prior to being abandoned.

He appears to be a mix of pit bull/boxer/terrier and is approximately 50 lbs.

The dog is now with Fulton County Animal Control, who can only guarantee that he will be held for 6 days. If anyone is interested in learning more about him, please contact Kristin Childers at 404-848-9590 or Kirsten Neufeld at 404-406-7222.

He is listed as Dog # A444987 with Fulton County Animal Control. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and 10:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Sat. and Sun. Adoptions stop 15 minutes before they close.

The Fulton County Animal Control address is 860 Marietta Blvd. NW, Atlanta, Ga. 30318. They can be reached by phone at 404-613-0358.
