Calling the new business "sort of a lifestyle store," Harrington said it's "a very natural evolution from our fine arts gallery to this."
She said that she and Huff in selling art had grown more involved in home design. She said the new business will offer new, antique and vintage French furniture as as well as lighting, decorative acccessories and specialty gift items.
Huff Harrington Home will occupy "a light-flooded and airy 4,000-plus-square-foot space that maintains its former industrial identity with plenty of glass, exposed ceilings and concrete floors," according to a news release. Along with the home furnishings, art will also be displayed at the new space, Harirngton said.
"It's an indusrial sleek space, where the art just shines," she said. "It's great to see the art in a real setting with furnishings and in a very homelike setting."
She said the team is "very confident" about the new venture and that after six years running the art gallery, "we feel like we know this market pretty well."
Huff Harrington will join the special hair salon Dry Bar and the gourmet food shop Lucy's Market at a reviving part of West Paces Ferry.
