Peachtree Corners Christmas Run & Costume Contest Accepting Toys for Tots

The 2nd Annual Peachtree Corners Christmas Run, presented by The Forum on Peachtree Parkway and Simpsonwood United Methodist Church & Retreat Center will be taking Toys for Tots.

The 2nd Annual Peachtree Corners Christmas Run, presented by The Forum on Peachtree Parkway and Simpsonwood United Methodist Church & Retreat Center will be taking Toys for Tots. Each donation will recieve a raffle ticket to win great local prizes.  This event combines family, fitness and fun, featuring a $1,000 costume contest!  This year we will help benefit the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots campaign. On Saturday, Dec. 15, participants will get a taste of the Peachtree Corners community while meeting Mayor Mike Mason and local community and business leaders.  “Last year we had over 600 runners, incredible for a first year event.  This year we have added a Christmas costume contest with 21 community and business leaders as guest judges,” said James Lowe, Event Director.

The course is typical Georgia terrain – Rolling Hills, fully paved and perfect for runners of all experience levels. Visit SpincycleSports.com for complete details and to register. Top 10K finishers will receive North Georgia Canopy Tour tickets. Top 5K finishers will receive North Georgia Wine Tour Tickets and all finishers will receive a custom Christmas T-Shirt. Bring an unwrapped toy to benefit the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program that brings hope to millions of children every holiday season through the delivery of toys in time for Christmas.  For every unwrapped gift donated, you will receive a Raffle ticket, with a chance to win some terrific prizes!  Raffle drawings will start at 10:00 in the Simpsonwood UMC Family Life Center Gym.

What:   Peachtree Corners Christmas Run benefiting Toys for Tots

When:  Sunday, Dec. 15, Costume Contest starts at 7:45 until 8:35 a.m. Races start at 9 a.m.

Where:  Simpsonwood United Methodist Church & Retreat Center (Family Life Center)

Entry:

  • $30 for 10K | 5K until December 1 then $35 - Race day $40 (Includes Costume Contest)
  • $25 for 10K | 5K runners under 20 - Race day $30 (Includes Costume Contest)
  • $20 for Fun Run/Walk (Includes Costume Contest)
  • $15 for Costume Contest Only

7:45am – 8:45am           Costume Contest Judging (Stage by Registration)

9:00am                              10K/5K & 1 mile fun walk starts

10:00am                            AWARDS for 10K & 5K & raffle begin

Christmas Costume Contest

Bring your friends and family to the Peachtree Corners Christmas Costume Contest benefiting the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.  “This is an excellent and fun way to make a difference to a child that may literally not receive anything for Christmas,” said Lowe.  “We are honored to have wonderful community and business leaders that have donated their time to be guest judges.” There are more than 20 costume categories including:  Best Overall Male/Female, Best Santa, Best Elf, Most Realistic, Furriest, Best use of Christmas Colors, Most Elaborate, Most Unusual, Most likely to scare the dog and more >>

You do not have to run in your costume to participate and win prizes (must be registered runner or walker).  Beginning  at 7:45am- 8:45am go to the stage in the gym to allow the judges to score your costume.  After the race at 10:30am we will announce more than 20 WINNERS!
