The National League of American Pen Women, an organization of composers, writers, and artists, was founded in 1897 as a professional association for female news reporters seeking equal access to the workplace and press associations in Washington, D.C.
While many of the League founders’ original goals of equity have been reached, Pen Women remain dedicated to supporting professional development and workplace equality, and serving our communities through the arts.
