Police Arrest 4 in Connection with Recent Kidnappings, Robberies

The Atlanta Police Department continues to investigate these cases.

Atlanta Police announced in a Friday news conference that they arrested four individuals in connection with the series of recent kidnappings and robberies in the Buckhead area this week.

According to Lt. Rodney Woody of APD, on Tuesday in Buckhead, police arrested Jonorris Gardner, Clevere Jones and Jano Taylor-Cline in connection with some of the kidnappings and robberies.

Gardner was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated assault with the intent to rob, two counts of kidnapping and 10 other charges. Jones was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated assault with the intent to rob, two counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping and six other charges. Taylor-Cline was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of aggravated assault with the intent to rob, two counts of kidnapping and four other charges.

Even earlier in the week in Clayton County, police arrested Steven Brown in connection with two of the kidnapping-robbery incidents. He is the man wearing the red knit cap in the video police released of the suspects last week, Woody said.

As for the Woody said police in South Carolina have charged Jemari Carroll with theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, among other crimes. However, Carroll has not been charged with robbery or kidnapping.

Police believe the March 29 incident involving a man being forced into his own trunk and then forced to withdraw money from an ATM may be connected to the other kidnapping-robberies.

"We think so, but we don't have enough yet," Woody told Buckhead Patch after the news conference. "We're looking at similarities between that and others."
