APD Says No Evidence Found Linking St. Louis Man to Buckhead Woman's Disappearance

The Atlanta Police Department said late Tuesday afternoon that investigators have found no evidence linking a St. Louis man to the disappearance of Stacey Nicole English shortly after Christmas.

Robert Kirk of St. Louis . He has never been suspected of foul play in the case, Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said in a statement.

"At this time, there is no evidence linking Mr. Kirk to the disappearance of Ms. English or reason to believe he was involved in any foul play related to her disappearance," Campos said.

"Mr. Kirk, who has never been suspected of foul play by Atlanta police, has been cooperative with investigators."

As part of the investigation, APD officers contacted Kirk, and then followed up on his intitial statements, Campos said.

Campos also said that no evidence was found in a two-day search of the southeast Atlanta lake near where English's car was found, its motor running. Her stepfather and mother in a Facebook page statement expressed relief that divers had found no evidence.

The investigation is continuing, Campos said.
