Atlanta Fire Rescue Department Hosting Open Houses Saturday

Visitors are encouraged to stop by to meet the firefighters and tour the select stations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department is opening its fire stations on Saturday, June 21, for its seventh annual Open House event. Visitors are encouraged to stop by to meet the firefighters and tour the stations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fire Station 25, 2349 Benjamin E. Mays Drive SW, will serve as the primary Open House station, offering food, entertainment and preventive health care vendors. V103 personality Wanda Smith will be on hand for a live broadcast between noon and 2 pm.

Six other fire stations, Station 18, 2007 Oakview Road SE; Station 19, 1063 N. Highland Avenue NE; Station 20, 590 Manford Road SW; Station 27, 4260 Northside Drive NW; Station 28, 1925 Hollywood Road NW; will provide burgers and hot dogs to visitors. All stations will welcome visitors.

“We encourage our neighbors to drop by this Saturday and say hello,” said Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran in a statement. “This is an event we look forward to every year, and we hope to see everyone there!”
