Atlanta Police Investigate String of Barbershop Armed Robberies

Atlanta Police are investigating a string of three armed robberies that have taken place at various Buckhead barbershops in the last month.

  • On July 31 at 9:30 p.m., three men entered Headmasters barbershop at 3255 Peachtree Road, and a man wearing all white said he wanted a haircut. Then, right behind him, two other men with guns told each person to empty their pockets and told a victim to remove his necklace and ring. One suspect said, "Y'all already know what it is. Put everything in your pockets on the floor." The men took two cell phones, a wallet, two driver's licenses, about $1,600 in cash. Then they ran out and jumped into a silver 2010 Dodge Ram.
  • On Aug. 13 at 8:20 p.m., two African-American men with bandanas on their faces entered Clientele Barber at 1700 Northside Drive NW with handguns and demanded the contents from the victim's pockets. Once they took the victims' money and property and put it in a bag they were carrying, they forced the victims into the rear of the location and threatened to shoot them if they came out. When the victims did emerge, the suspects were gone.
  • On Aug. 17 at 1 p.m., two African-American men entered 71 Barber Shop at 520 Main Street at Lindbergh City Center with handguns and stole the victims' cell phones and money. As they were leaving the location, a MARTA officer spotted them walking down the sidewalk. The suspects ran down the sidewalk, and one was apprehended while the other escaped. The cell phones and money were recovered.
Atlanta Police are asking citizens to be on the lookout for the suspects pictured in the shot from surveillance footage from the first barbershop burglary at Headmaster on July 31.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents is asked to contact Atlanta Police Investigator D. J. Agan Jr. at djagan@atlantaga.gov or at (404) 546-5307.
