Atlanta Police Seeking Macy's Burglar Who Stole Half-Million in Jewelry

The man hid in a storage area of the department store until it closed before stealing $500,000 in jewelry.

Atlanta Police are seeking the man who hid in a storage area of Macy's at Lenox Square and then stole jewelry valued at $500,000 after the store closed.

On Sept. 13, after hiding in a storage area until the store was closed and employees left, the suspect then broke into several display cases and took approximately $500,000 worth of jewelry.

Investigators are asking for assistance in identifying the two men seen in the attached video as part of this investigation.

The video shows that on Sept. 10, a man entered the storage area and moved a security camera covering the area where the burglar hid. The video then shows the burglar in the storage area on Sept. 13.  It is not clear whether the man who moved the security camera and the man who burglarized the store are the same person.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.  Any information on the case can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637).
