Buckhead Bank Robbed; Suspect Caught Quickly

Police say the robber didn't get far before they caught him in the Monday morning robbery.

Atlanta police say a man is in custody and is the lone suspect in Monday's bank robbery attempt at Fifth Third Bank in the 3300 block of Peachtree Road, near Lenox Mall.

The bank robbery occurred around 11 a.m. Monday.  Police investigators are still piecing what exactly happened. 

According to a WSB report, Atlanta police Capt. Adam Lee III said:

"All we know is that he fits the description, based on the description given by the bank manager, and he has been identified by that bank manager as the person who was in the bank at the time of the robbery.”

The suspect was captured on Rumson Road near Fellini's Pizza.

Officer Greg Lyon with APD Public Affairs told Buckhead Patch that the suspect used a note to rob the bank. The would-be robber "made it outside with an unknown amount of cash but dropped the money when the ink pack exploded."
