Teen Arrested in DeKalb Carjacking of Buckhead Workers

Supervisor giving employee ride home results in kidnapping, robbery, according to reports

A 16-year-old suspect is under arrest in the Thursday night carjacking, robbery and kidnapping of two Buckhead workers who had left their business.

One of the victims, identified in media reports as Jason Douglas, is in serious condition at Grady Hospital after being shot, according to DeKalb police spokesperson Mekka Parish. Another suspect is being sought.

The other victim, a woman, was sexually assaulted, Parish said. The victim asked Douglas, her supervisor at a Buckhead business, for a ride home , according to reports. Channel 11 reported that the two worked for a clothing store in Lenox Square Mall.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and kidnapping, Parish said.

According to Parish, the victims were approached by the armed suspects at Canberra Drive and Devon Way in DeKalb at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday, and the suspects forced their way into the car.

The suspects drove their victims around in an attempt to find an ATM.Douglas was shot when escaping the vehicle, and hee was able to flee to a business on Covington Highway,  whenpolice were called. The female victim was found with the car, and the suspect was later arrested.
