Buckhead Crime Blotter: Bank Robbed, Suspect Arrested and More

The following police reports were filed March 17-23 by Zone 2 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to Buckhead Patch. During this period, the zone filed 98 police reports. 3/20/12 at 8 p.m.

A man parked his rental truck at his place of employment overnight. When he returned, he found both of the vehicle's rear tires missing. No video and no fingerprints.

Other Larceny, Wal-Mart, 1801 Howell Mill Road NW

3/17/13 at 7:17 p.m.

A woman concealed two bottles of Febreze, valued at $17, in her purse and passed all points of sale.

 

Robbery-Commercial, Fifth Third Bank, 3344 Peachtree Road NE

3/18/13 at 10:56 a.m.

A man walked into the bank and retrieved a bank deposit slip from the bank's island kiosk. He wrote "gun" and "loose bills" on the slip and handed it to the teller. He told the teller, "I have a gun. Give me all your money." The suspect left on foot with $249, containing a stack of strapped $20 with a dye pack. The suspect was later apprehended.

 

Larceny from Auto, 3398 Piedmont Road NE

3/18/13 at 4 p.m.

An unknown suspect smashed the window on a man's vehicle and stole the Wilson satchel bag with miscellaneous papers inside. On a nonrelated traffic stop, the bag was later recovered in the trunk of the vehicle.

 

Aggravated Assault, 3315 Roswell Road NE

3/20/13 at 8 p.m.

A woman was jogging on Roswell Road when she was approached by a white man, with an average build who was about 5'9" with brown facial hair in his late 20s. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. The woman said she stopped jogging because she thought the man was going to ask for directions. Instead the man took out a silver handgun and pointed it at her. The victim wasn't sure what the man said because she had her earphones in her ears, so she ran away. She saw the man jump into the passenger side of a tan four-door vehicle.

 

Other Larceny, 761 Sidney Marcus Blvd. NE

3/17/13 at 3:30 a.m.

On St. Patrick's Day in the early morning, a man got into what he thought was a taxicab to QuikTrip. He gave the female driver his debit card and went to the restroom. When he returned, the woman was gone.

 

Other Larceny, Publix at 1544 Piedmont Road NE

3/20/13 at 6:35 p.m.

A suspect walked into the grocery store, took a $10 bottle of wine, passed all points of sale and walked out of the store without paying.
