Buckhead Crime Blotter: 2 Men Robbed at Gunpoint While Walking

Also a car full of suspected gang members began shooting at a man who narrowly escaped through nearby woods.

The following police reports were filed Jan. 16-19 by Zone 2 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to Buckhead Patch. During this period, the zone filed 96 police reports. All information is presumed to be accurate. Buckhead Patch is providing some of the reports filed in this blotter.

Victim said she was upstairs when she heard her alarm go off, so she yelled downstairs. A female voice responded, “Meredith told me to come.” The victim yelled for the woman to leave. At some point the victim left her residence. When she returned, her toaster was missing. Her laptop was not taken, although it was placed on the same counter in front of the toaster.

Aggravated Assault 1/16-17 from 11:40 p.m. to 12:07 a.m. on 1500 block of Chattahoochee Avenue NW

Victim said that four members of the Hispanic gang, Surano 13, drove up to him in a white Crown Victoria. They produced a silver handgun and began shooting at the victim, who escaped by running through a cut in the woods.

 

Robbery of Pedestrian 1/17 at 1:55 a.m. on 1300 block of Elaine Avenue NW

Two male suspects, wearing all black, robbed the victim at gunpoint. While one suspect pointed the gun at the victim, the other suspect ripped a chain from the victim’s neck. There were no cameras at the location.

 

Robbery-Pedestrian 1/17 at 6:30-7:30 a.m. on 1600 block of Buchanan Street

The victim said he was walking out of his apartment when a suspect approached him from behind, pointing a gun to his head. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone. No other description of the suspect was provided except that he was wearing sweatpants, shirt and a hoodie.

 

Larceny from Auto 1/18-19 at 11 p.m. to 12:51 a.m. at Buckhead United Methodist Church, 3181 Mathieson Drive NE

An unknown suspect damaged a vehicle’s window to get inside and then took several items, including a diamond necklace, two purses, two wallets and debit cards. No fingerprints were obtained and there were no witnesses. The church has several surveillance cameras.

 

Commercial Burglary 1/19 at 3:49 a.m. at raw Denim at 56 East Andrews Drive NW

Units responded to the retail store and found a vehicle was used in a smash and grab burglary. Several expensive pairs of jeans were stolen. Witnesses on the scene said they saw a white truck back into the store and three men exited the vehicle, went into the store and fled with the stolen jeans.
