Buckhead Pedestrian Armed Robberies Result in Some Arrests

Solo victims were approached by multiple men in separate early Saturday morning incidents.

A pair of armed pedestrian robberies early Saturday morning resulted in the arrests of three men, but also left other suspects at-large.

According to Atlanta Police Officer John Chafee, at around 1:30 a.m., police officers responded to a robbery in the north Buckhead area of Roswell Road and Lakeland Drive.

The victim said he was walking in the area, when he was approached by three males who were each armed with handguns. The men robbed the victim of his property and left in a vehicle.

The victim was able to follow the males for a short distance and provide vehicle tag information to police. A short time later, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted and officers attempted to stop the vehicle. After the driver initially refused to stop, he soon stopped and all three men then ran from the vehicle.  

Officers were able to locate and apprehend all three suspects.

Charged with armed robbery were Marqueze Battle, 19, Montavious Wingfield, 20, and Jesse Bray, 21, all of Atlanta. The Georgia State Patrol assisted APD in the arrests.

A short time later at approximately 2:15 a.m., Atlanta police officers responded to 415 Armour Drive just south of Buckhead. Upon arrival, the victim told officers he was walking in the area when he was approached by two black males who told him to give them his property.

According to Chafee, during the robbery, one of the suspects produced a handgun. After robbing the victim, the men left the scene in a silver or white midsize sedan.

No further description was provided of the suspects and there were no injuries reported.
