Buckhead Police Blotter: June 3 - 9

Here is a look at Zone 2 police activity from the previous week.

The following police reports were filed June 3 - 9 by Zone 2 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to Buckhead Patch. All information is presumed to be accurate.

Aggravated assault:

Police responded on June 3 at 4:58 p.m. to 1944 Piedmont Road, Inn Town Suites, where the victim stated that the arrestee threw a box cutter at him. The impact from the box cutter reportedly left a small cut to his stomach. The victim was also arrested due to the other party’s statements that he picked up a box cutter and threatened her with it.

Robbery:

Two men were arrested on June 3 at 1:47 a.m. for assaulting a victim with glass bottles and taking his duffle bag by force. Police arrived at 1075 Woodland Avenue NE and took into custody Jose Hernandez and David Morales Lorenzo.

 

Four suspects robbed a man walking on Brookwood Drive NE on June 7 toward the Lindbergh MARTA Station. Police responded after 10 p.m. to 2579 Brookwood Drive NE and learned that one of the suspects had pointed a pistol at the victim’s head and taken a backpack containing several electronic items. 

 

Police responded June 3 at 10:30 p.m. to Moore’s Village Apartments on Coronet Way, where several unidentified suspects entered a residence and began demanding money and making threats. One suspect was armed with a handgun. The suspects took a flatscreen television, cash and jewelry. 

 

Commercial burglary:

JCT Kitchen, 1198 Howell Mill Road NW was reportedly burglarized in the early morning hours of June 6. The suspect made entry into the business by breaking a window and stole $500 from two cash drawers.

 

Over $1000 was reportedly taken from Depalmas, 2072 Defoors Ferry Road, on June 9.  The suspect took the money after making entry into the business by breaking through a side door.

 

An unknown suspect broke a lock on a storage shed on the evening of June 9 and stole a “back-pack” style leaf blower at Nurse Care of Buckhead, 2920 Pharr Ct. NW. 

 

Police responded on the morning of June 4 to Tater Tot Consignment, 433 Bishop St. NW, where a burglary had occurred with no sign of forced entry. The store owner arrived to find two computers gone from the store. The back door was slightly ajar and had apparently been unlocked with a key.

 

Frank Ski’s Restaurant and Lounge, 2110 Peachtree Road NW, was reportedly broken into overnight on June 6. The patio door was damaged, although nothing was taken from the business.

 

Sufi’s Restaurant, 1814 Peachtree St. NW, was burglarized on June 4. A door was damaged upon entry and a cash register had been broken.

 

Tantra, 2285 Peactree Road NE, was burglarized overnight on June 5. Police responded the next day to discover damage to two doors and $200 missing from the business.

 

Residential burglary:

A resident at 722 Holmes St. returned home on June 3 to find that his back window had been kicked in and numerous electronic items had been taken.

 

Police were dispatched on June 7 to 3200 Lenox Road NE, where a resident arrived home to find his apartment in disarray. All the cabinets had been pulled out and the beds tossed upside down. Several items had been stolen, including a Nintendo Wii, laptop and two rings.

 

A home at 415 Amour Dr. NE was burglarized on June 7. The victim reported that his front door had been kicked in and several items, including a television and laptop were missing.
