Buckhead Silver Thefts 'Related' to Columbus, GA Thefts

Similar thefts have been committed in four other states. Police have not officially stated if they believe they're all related.

A thief who has invaded a Columbus, GA neighborhood and gotten away with thousands of dollars of silverware, bowls and other valuables may be the same silverware stealer who's targeted Buckhead time and again since April 2011.

Columbus Police are investigating four silverware thefts over a 10-day span in the neighborhood along the Chattahoochee River. Atlanta Police say the thefts are similar to the Buckhead silver thefts.

"They are related," said Atlanta Detective Drew Bahry in a report from Columbus' Ledger-Enquirer. "We know with almost a 100 percent certainty."
