Crime Blotter: Purse Stolen from Church; Catalytic Converter Stolen

Also: flat screen TV stolen while man was away from home for only an hour; $1,500 check cashed from checkbook stolen from vehicle.

The following police reports were filed Aug. 25-31 by Zone 2 of the Atlanta Police Department and submitted to Buckhead Patch. During this period, the zone filed 125 police reports. All information is presumed to be accurate. Buckhead Patch is providing some of the reports filed in this blotter.

Residential Burglary, 3600 block of Knollwood Drive NW
8/30/13 at 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The victim reported that his back door was kicked in and his flat screen TV was stolen. The victim said his home was broken into during a one-hour period that he left his home. He said his dresser was also vandalized.

Larceny from Auto, 3400 Northside Parkway NW
8/28/13 at 9:30 p.m.
An unknown suspect entered the victim's unlocked vehicle and stole $4,500 in cash and other items from the vehicle.

Larceny from Auto, 2820 Peachtree Road NW
8/28/13 at 6:10 a.m.
Victim returned to his vehicle to find the catalytic converter was stolen. There are no known suspects at this time.

Other Larceny, 2744 Peachtree Road NW
8/31/13 8 a.m. to noon
Victim's purse was taken from the chair that she was sitting in while as a vendor at the church. Victim reported that the credit card was used at an undisclosed Marshall's store and an attempt was made to use her American Express card at a gas station.

Larceny from Auto, 2980 Piedmont Road NE
8/23/13 at 12:33 p.m.
An unidentified employee was observed on video removing something from the center console of the victim's vehicle. Later, someone cashed a check from the victim's checkbook at a Wells Fargo in Tucker for $1,500.
