Doctor Indicted for Running Pill Mill from Buckhead Condo

The doctor's license has been suspended, and he faces several federal charges.

A doctor has been indicted for allegedly running a pill mill from his Buckhead condo.

Dr. David Battista is facing federal charges for dispensing large amounts of painkillers–oxycodone, morphine and Alprazolam– sometimes without examining patients, according to the federal indictment.

Battista's former business manager, Anthony Licata, said he moved the business from Florida here to Buckhead with Battista, according to a report from WSB-TV.

Eventually, Battista moved their Chrion Medical Services practice from the East Shadowlawn Avenue location to his condo in Buckhead, according to a report from WSB-TV.

That's when Licata said he had to walk away, and he opened a legal operation in the same location.

Battista's license was suspended by the Georgia Composite Medical Board on June 10, 2013 for failure to submit results of a mental and physical examination after concerns were raised.
