DUI, Reckless Driving Charges Dropped Against Braves Pitcher Derek Lowe
AJC says action taken after viewing of videotape of Buckhead incident
DUI and reckless driving charges against Braves pitcher Derek Lowe were dropped Thursday, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Lowe, driving a 2011 Porsche Panamera, was stopped April 28 on Peachtree Road in Buckhead by a Georgia State Patrol trooper who said he's seen Lowe racing with the driver of another vehicle, the state patrol said. The trooper said he smelled alcohol, leading to Lowe's arrest, according to the state patrol.
The AJC story said that Lowe's attorneys said the charges were dropped after the viewing of a videotape of the incident. According to a report on WSB-TV's website, a judge with the Municipal Court of Atlanta dismissed the charges Thursday, saying there was a lack of evidence after reviewing the police video.
