Offer to Share Meth Brings Police to Monroe Drive Store

The following arrest information was supplied by the Atlanta police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man hanging out at Norcostco Atlanta Costume on Monroe Drive for more than an hour was suspicious enough. When the man allegedly offered to smoke some meth with an employee, Atlanta police were called to the scene.

The employee told the officer who arrived at 2089 Monroe Drive that the man was inside the business for more than an hour. The suspect had bent a long time in the bathroom, so the employee went to check on him, according to the officer's narrative of the indicent. What happened next caused the employee to ask another employee to immediately call police.

The employee told police that when he opened the door to the bathroom, the suspect allegedly asked if he wanted to smoke some meth, showing him a clear plastic bag of the suspected meth. The man also asked if the employee had a pipe they could use.

After walking away to get another employee to make the 911 call, the first employee worked to stall the suspect, even having him fill out an employment application.

The officer's arrival made the suspect nervous. At the officer's request, the suspect turned out his pockets and no meth was found. However, as the suspect started to leave after being given a criminal trespass citation, the employee discovered the plastic bag with the suspected metho hidden underneath the job application form.
