Police Investigating Drive-by Shooting in NW Atlanta

One person was shot during the early Thursday morning incident that occurred outside a recording studio in the Berkeley Park neighborhood.

Atlanta police are investigating an early Thursday morning drive-by shooting in the Berkeley Park neighborhood in northwest Atlanta.

According to Sgt. Greg Lyon, one person was shot during the incident that occurred around 4:20 a.m. outside a recording studio located in the 800 block of Forrest Street.

In an email, Lyon stated, “The victims advised that they were leaving the recording studio at the listed address when a white crown Victoria with dark tint on the windows was observed coming down the street with the headlights out. The victims stated that the subjects exited the vehicle and begin shooting. One subject was struck in the back, and another was struck several times with a firearm. Victim number two also advised that his wallet was taken.”

The shooting victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

Police were also called to a nearby home in the 700 block of Berkeley Avenue after someone reported hearing at least 10 shots fired in the area.

The Berkeley Park neighborhood is situated between Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road, just west of Midtown and below the southern boundary of Buckhead.

Police have yet to release a full report and this is a developing story.
