Police Seek Buckhead Sex Assault Suspect

Police say the man may be responsible for a series of incidents in North Atlanta and Buckhead going as far back as Dec. 6, 2009.

Atlanta police have released a sketch of a man suspected in a sexual assault in Buckhead over the weekend, and say the same suspect may be tied to similar crimes in the area over the past few years.

Police say they are stepping up patrols in the Lindbergh area, where the most recent assault happened some time after 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

The victim told police she arrived home with her roommates, and awoke some time later to find a man fondling her. The man stole items before leaving the apartment.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 5’-8” to 5’-10” tall, with a dark complexion and wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt with dark-colored pants. (The police sketch accompanies this article.)

Police listed several incidents that may be related to the same suspect. The behavior of the suspect in these cases was similar, and there was no sign of forced entry in any of the incidents:

Police are asking people with information to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip through www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
