Smash-And-Grab Burglars Hit Buckhead Cell Phone Store

Suspects reportedly used a sledgehammer to break into an AT&T store early Tuesday morning.

Smash-and-grab thieves hit a Buckhead AT&T store early Tuesday morning.

According to Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones, at around 4:20 a.m., Zone 2 units responded to a business burglary call at 2561 Piedmont Road near Sidney Marcus Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the front glass door of the business had been broken out with a sledgehammer.

It was reported by a nearby Home Depot dock worker that he observed three to four black males inside the store taking items. The caller advised the suspects were driving a silver F-150 pickup truck and a black four-door sedan.

Officers canvased the area and located the silver pickup truck abandoned at Buford Highway just North of Armour Drive. There were several electronic items (from AT&T) discovered inside the vehicle.

During the investigation, a spent .380 cal. shell casing was found inside the store along with a bullet hole in the storage door. Blood was also found on the storage door inside the business and on the electronic items inside the pickup truck.

An AT&T manager arrived and advised that he was unable to determine the total amount of items taken.
