Two Suspects Arrested in Buckhead Armed Robbery

72-year-old woman held up in her home, Atlanta police say

Two suspects have been arrested in the armed robbery of a 72-year-old woman Thursday inside her Buckhead home, APD spokesman John Chafee said.

Chafee said Zone 2 officers were called to the home on Sentinel Post Road after receiving the armed robbery report. The woman told the officers that after she had returned home and entered the residence, she turned around and saw one of the suspects, who had followed her inside.

The man, armed with a handgun, demanded jewelry. After robbing the victim, the suspect told her to stay inside and left, Chafee said.

In the subsequent investigation, officers obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle and located it a short time later. Police stopped the vehicle
and determined that both occupants were involved in the robbery, Chafee said. Both men were taken into custody and charged with armed robbery,

A loaded handgun and property belonging to the victim were located inside the vehicle, Chafee said.
