Thieves Target Silver in Buckhead Break-Ins

Three area homes have been broken into in recent weeks.

Atlanta police are investigating recent home break-ins where thieves are targeting the home owners’ sterling silver flatware and serving pieces.

In the three cases reported in recent weeks in Buckhead and North Atlanta, criminals cut or broke window glass to gain access to homes overnight while the residents were sleeping. One woman told police she had not set her alarm before going to bed. In another case, the alarm system was on, but the motion detector was not activated because the family has pets.
