Recent studies, as well as , indicates that auto thefts and larcenies are a major issue facing Buckhead.
Nearly 50-percent of the 119 for the previous week were larcenies from automobiles or automobile thefts.
Here now, is a more in-depth look at these crimes during the week of June 3 - 9:
3200 Downwood Cir. NW - On June 6 a victim reported that his 2002 Cadillac Escalade had been entered and several items had been stolen, including $2200 in cash, four hub caps and a gold necklace. There was no surveillance at the location.
1160 Moore's Mill Road NW - While parked at the YMCA on the evening of June 7, a victim reported she had left her wallet sitting in the floorboard of her vehicle while she was inside the building. Upon returning, the door handle of the vehicle was damaged and the wallet was gone.
Northside Parkway at West Paces - In the early afternoon of June 9, a victim reported that his 2011 Ford F150 had been broken into and one camera, a Coach purse and two credit cards were stolen.
2127 Adams Dr. NW - On June 3 a victim reported that the back window of his vehicle had been broken out while parked at his residence. A work laptop had been taken, along with other items. His child, apparently hearing the crime taking place, woke him up in the early hours of the morning but the victim said he thought nothing of it at the time.
1530 Gilstrap Lane NW - A victim reported that on the evening of June 9 his 2010 Honda Accord had been stolen. The victim said he had the keys to the vehicle with him.
1040 Huff Road NW - Multiple vehicles were broken into overnight on June 6 at this location, the report states.
1050 Collier Road NW - Someone tried unsuccessfully to steal a 1997 Honda Accord on the night of June 5. The victim said that he parked his vehicle overnight and, when he returned, found that the driver side door window had been damaged and the door had been pried open. The steering column had been pulled and the ignition torn out.
Police received another call from the same location, however, where a victim said that his 1997 Honda Accord had successfully been stolen.
3519 Northside Parkway - On the night of June 8 a victim’s vehicle was broken into and a suitcase full of knives taken along with an IPad and other items. No surveillance cameras were at this location, the report notes.
56 E. Andrews Dr. NW - On the morning of June 3, a security guard reported seeing a male wearing gloves pulling on various car door handles. The suspect then entered a vehicle that had been left unsecured. Police arrived on the scene and were able to apprehend the suspect wearing the gloves and recover several items he had allegedly taken.
