Weekend Sees More Armed Pedestrian Robberies in Buckhead

Three more Buckhead residents were reportedly recently robbed at gunpoint.

In what has become increasingly commonplace of late, three more Buckhead residents were reportedly robbed at gunpoint recently.

The most recent pair of incidents came over the weekend, including one in the proximity of the Collier Hills neighborhood. They follow a rash of armed pedestrian robberies over the course of the last week and a half in Buckhead.

According to Atlanta Police Sgt. Greg Lyon, a woman pulled into her driveway located in the 400 block of Echota Drive around 8:30 Saturday morning. Before she was able to exit her vehicle, a black male ran up to the driver's door of her vehicle, opened the door, brandished a handgun, and demanded her cash and cell phone.

The victim handed over her iPhone and approximately $100 in cash. The woman, whose 2-year-old daughter was in the vehicle at the time, watched the man flee on foot and then jump into the passenger side of a white four-door sedan that she believed to be a Nissan.

WSB-TV reported that the same car was spotted during a Friday armed robbery nearby along West Wesley Road. (Editor's Note: APD says the crime occurred on Thursday) In that incident, two victims were reportedly robbed at gunpoint.
