Woman Kidnapped in Buckhead Carjacking

Victim recovered at MARTA station

A woman was kidnapped and her boyfriend pistol-whipped and shot at in a carjacking early Wednesday morning at a Buckhead apartment complex near the Lindbergh MARTA station, police said.

The kidnapped woman was later found at the Westlake MARTA station by MARTA police, police spokesperson Kim Jones said. The victim was taken to Atlanta Police Public Safety Headquarters. Her condition was not immediately available. 

The woman's boyfriend told police that when he pulled his 2008 black Chevrolet Corvette into the parking deck of the Eon at Lindbergh apartments at 2450 Camellia Lane with his girlfriend, they were approached by six or seven assailants wearing red bandannas.

The victim told Zone 2 officers that the suspects pistol-whipped him, then fired shots at him. He received a cut above the left eye and was treated at the scene by Grady EMS  but refused to be taken to the hospital.

The suspects then took the man's girlfriend out of the Corvette and forced her into one of two Black Chevrolet midsize SUVs. They then left in the SUVs, along with the Corvette. The AJC reported that the incident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. and that the woman was found at about 6 a.m.

Police were still searching for the vehicles Wednesday mornng. One SUV had a Georgia Tag of BDY 0713. The Corvette had the Georgia Tag BQG 4260

Jones said the carjacking and kidnapping appeared a random incident.
