Woman Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Lenox Square Mall

Failed carjacking attempt occurred Monday afternoon in Buckhead.

According to Atlanta police, two armed men robbed a woman at an undisclosed location outside Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead on Monday afternoon.

In an email to Patch, Police Officer John Chafee wrote that the victim stated she had just gotten in her vehicle at approximately 3:40 p.m., when two black men with guns appeared and ordered her to get out of it.

Unable to start the vehicle in a failed attempt to steal it, the men robbed the victim of her purse and fled in a black truck.

One of the men was described as standing 5-foot-5, with a medium-to-dark complexion, wearing a grey sweat suit, a grey, purple knit winter hat, and a scarf covering his face. There was no description provided by police of the second suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
