Atlanta City Council Approves $200,000 for Ga. 400 Trail Design Work

Expenditure to help Livable Buckhead With Work

The Atlanta City Council on Monday agreed to spend up to $200,000 for design work on the Ga. 400 trail, council spokesman Dexter Chambers said.

The money will aid Livable Buckhead in funding the design work, being done by Heath and Lineback. The legislation was also approved by the Finance/Executive Committee, chaired by Buckhead District 8 Councilwoman Yolanda Adrean.

The is the first project of the Buckhead Collection, a greenspace initiative begun by Buckhead District 7 Councilman Howard Shook. The initiative will add parks, plazas, playgrounds, bike paths and historic trails to the district, found to be the most underserved in the city.

The Buckhead Business Association's program is also raising funds for the trail.
