Avoid Long Delays Due to Construction on GA-400 and I-285 This Weekend

Bridge joint work will close three left lanes in on I-285 eastbound from I-75 to Roswell Road and three right lanes westbound from Northside Drive to Powers Ferry Road all weekend.

In order to avoid "significant" traffic delays due to construction this weekend, Georgia Department of Transportation officials urge drivers to seek alternative routes to GA-400 near I-85 and I-285's "top end."

Bridge joint work will close three left lanes in on I-285 eastbound from I-75 to Roswell Road and three right lanes westbound from Northside Drive to Powers Ferry Road all weekend. Long delays are expected.

All weekend, contractors will continue the construction of the bridges in the SR 400/I-85 interchange. Flagging operations on surface streets around the interchange and various lane closures on State Route 400 are expected to cause delays in the area so motorists should plan ahead to avoid the backups.

“We understand that these delays on 400 and on 285 are an inconvenience to motorists but I think if they plan ahead and seek the ways around these areas, they can avoid most of the delays,” said GDOT District Construction Engineer Lee Upkins.
