City Council OKs Ga. 400 Trail Plan

Vote expands Buckhead CID's boundaries

The Atlanta City Council Monday approved expanding the Buckhead CID's boundaries to facilitate development of the Ga. 400 trail, according to reporter David Pendered's article on the Saporta Report.

The article on Atlanta Business Chronicle columnist Maria Saporta's web site said the council approved the plan to extend the CID's boundaris to Loridans Drive, where the Ga. 400 trail will begin. The proposal was on the council's concent agenda, which means it passed wihtout debate, Pendered said.

While the Buckhead CID is supporting the trail, the project is being run by the affiliated Livable Buckhead, which has been involved in trail design and discussions with the Georgia Department of Transportation, PATH, the Norfolk-Southern Railroad and the Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority. Livable Buchead will soon begin public meetings on the trail plan.

The Ga. 400 trail, supported by the Buckhead Business Association's Bucks on the Street program, is the start of the Buckhead Collection effort to increase greenspace in Council District 7, represented by Howard Shook.
